Video Publisher

Terms of service

Last updated

These terms cover the use of Video Publisher, a private, self-hosted tool that publishes its owner's short vertical videos to their YouTube, TikTok and Instagram accounts.

Who can use it

Only the owner of this installation. There are no public accounts or sign-ups. By signing in and connecting accounts, the owner accepts these terms.

Your accounts and content

  • Connect only accounts you own or are allowed to manage.
  • You are responsible for what you publish, including holding the rights to the video, the music and anything else in it.
  • Video Publisher doesn't add watermarks, logos, links or text to videos. It only resizes them to 1080×1920 with the fit you choose (black bars, a crop or a blurred background), and it sends captions and titles as you wrote or confirmed them.

Platform terms

Publishing through Video Publisher means using each platform's service, so their terms apply as well:

Scheduling and platform limits

  • Scheduled posts are published at the chosen time, or as soon as possible afterwards if the video is still being prepared or a platform limit has been reached.
  • Each platform sets its own limits, such as YouTube's daily upload quota, TikTok's posting caps and Instagram's publishing limit. Video Publisher waits for a limit to reset or reports an error. It never works around them.
  • Until the app passes TikTok's Direct Post audit, TikTok only allows private ("Only me") posts from it.

Availability and liability

Video Publisher is provided as is, without warranties. Platform APIs change and can be unavailable, so a post can fail or be delayed; check each platform for the final result. As far as the law allows, its operator isn't liable for losses caused by using it.

Privacy

The privacy policy explains what Video Publisher stores, what it sends to each platform and how to remove its access.
